Family Circle Dream House

Family Circle Magazine commissioned Siris Coombs Architecture to design “The Busy Woman’s Dream House” for the Atlanta’s Builders Convention in 1990.

We designed a house based on the findings of a survey of their readership which asked questions about what they wanted in their ideal home. The house was to be modest in cost, but incorporate the “dreams” of their readers.

One big wish, presaging times to come was a large living room where cooking, homework and socializing could all happen together. The house takes the form of “Z” creating entry court and a rear deck area. Thousands of plans were sold and plan was adapted by many different site conditions.
